Goodwill

So I wanted to show some of my favorite things that I've bought from Goodwill, most of all the high-waisted skirts. Every time I go to Goodwill I swear I come out with three new high-waisted skirts that I love. So here are some tips for shopping at Goodwill:

1. There's more than one Goodwill, so if one doesn't have anything you like go to another one! I always go to the one on East North St. next to the Crossway. But the great thing about Goodwills is that every one is different.
2. Plan on being there for a while, if you just run in for a couple of minutes you'll miss everything! Give yourself time to dig for a while. So go on a day where you have nothing else to do, and it will end up making your day, I promise.
3. Look at everything. Go through all of the racks, you never know where you'll find a treasure. Don't be afraid if your hands get a little dirty from the hangers, it's all in the fun of Goodwill. And take time looking at the things that you normally wouldn't wear. If it was trendy and "cool" it wouldn't be at Goodwill.
4. Take loads of clothes with you into the dressing rooms. Chances are, half of what you try on won't fit you. So grab anything that remotely catches your eye and lug it in with you to try on. The things you liked won't look good on and the things you just grabbed will end up being your favorite on. It's pretty backwards.
5. Don't be afraid to buy something that's a little odd or ridiculous. Sometimes I find plain staples, but my favorites are always somewhat over the top. Have fun. Go crazy. You'll love it. I promise.
